Saturday Reminder: You Are Not Just A To-Do List
Allthatsheis.blogspot.com
I know what Saturday looks like for many of us.
This morning, I stood in front of a laundry pile that felt like it had quietly doubled overnight. The sink had a few plates I was too tired to deal with yesterday. I told myself, “Let me just quickly go to the market,” but we both know how that goes… one errand turns into hours.
At some point, I found myself moving from one task to another without even thinking. No pause. No breath. Just doing.
And it hit me…
When did weekends stop feeling like rest and start feeling like recovery work for the week we survived?
So Here's Your Gentle Saturday Reminder:
You Are Not Just A To-Do List
The laundry will still be there tomorrow. The house will not fall apart if you sit down for a while. The world will keep spinning even if you choose to rest.
You don’t have to earn rest.
You don’t have to finish everything before you allow yourself to breathe.
Today, I made myself a cup of tea… and for once, I didn’t carry it around while doing something else. I actually sat down and drank it while it was still hot. No rushing. No guilt. Just a few quiet minutes.
And honestly? I needed that more than I needed a spotless house.
So maybe today, you do one small thing for yourself too.
Sit outside and let the sun touch your face.
Play that song that lifts your spirit.
Close your eyes for ten minutes and just be… not doing, not planning, not worrying.
The chores will get done.
But you also need to get filled.
This weekend, give yourself permission to pause. Not because you’ve done enough, but because you are enough, regardless of what’s checked off your list.
You deserve rest. Not as a reward. Just because you’re human.
What’s one small thing you’re doing for yourself this weekend? Tell me in the comments, I’d love to celebrate it with you 🤍
From me to you,
