My "365 Buttons" Jar: Taking Charge, Doing What I Love & Spending on Myself
If you’ve spent any time online this week, you’ve probably seen the “365 buttons” trend floating around. It started with a woman named Tamara on TikTok who casually mentioned she bought 365 buttons—one for every day of the year. When someone asked why, her response was simple, unapologetic, and instantly iconic:
“Because I want to. It doesn’t have to make sense to you. It only has to make sense to me.”
In a matter of days, those words became a rallying cry. Women everywhere started sharing their own “buttons”—the quirky, unexplainable, deeply personal things they’re doing in 2026, simply because they want to.
And honestly? I felt it in my bones.
So I’m joining in. I’m starting my own “365 buttons” jar. But my buttons aren’t literal. They’re the choices I’m making this year that I’m done justifying to anyone else.
This is what Allthatsheis.com has always been about—celebrating the woman who owns her choices, unapologetically. So consider this my official contribution to the conversation.
My Buttons
Here are a few of my “buttons” for 2026. They may not make sense to everyone, and that’s the point.
Button #1: I’m taking charge of my own life.
For too long, I waited for permission—from circumstances, from people, from the “right time.” Not anymore. I’m the one calling the shots now. Whether it’s making a bold decision, pivoting in a new direction, or simply trusting my own judgment over everyone else’s opinions—I’m in the driver’s seat.
Button #2: I’m doing what I love.
I stopped asking whether my passions are “practical” or “worth it.” If it brings me joy, it’s worth it. Whether that’s picking up a creative project, spending time on a hobby that lights me up, or just allowing myself to fully enjoy the things that make me feel alive—I’m giving myself full permission.
Button #3: I’m making findings and exploring new things.
This is my year of curiosity. I’m saying yes to discovering new places, new perspectives, and new sides of myself. Trying that spot I’ve been curious about. Taking the scenic route. Following my intuition when it whispers, “Go see what’s out there.” Life feels bigger when you stay open to exploration.
Button #4: I’m going out more and spending on myself.
I used to save the “good things” for some hypothetical future. Now? I’m investing in experiences and treating myself—not because I achieved something, but simply because I exist. A nice dinner. That outfit I kept eyeing. The ticket to an event I want to experience. I’m showing up for myself, and I’m enjoying the life I’m building right now.
What’s in Your Jar?
The beauty of the “365 buttons” trend isn’t the buttons themselves. It’s the permission it gives us to stop performing our choices for an invisible audience. It’s a reminder that our lives don’t have to be a pitch deck. They can just be… lived.
So I’ll ask you the same question Tamara’s comment sparked in me:
What’s your “button” this year?
What’s something you’re doing—big or small—simply because it brings you joy, freedom, or a sense of adventure? It doesn’t have to be profound. It just has to be yours.
Drop it in the comments. Let’s fill this space with all the beautifully unexplainable things we’re choosing for ourselves in 2026.
Because in the end, we don’t need anyone to understand our buttons.
With love,
